About me

I qualified as a counsellor in 1998 and as a casework supervisor in 2001.  Since then I have worked regularly in the private and voluntary sector with a wide range of both clients and issues.

I run my own counselling and supervision practice and have a dedicated therapy room in my own home.

In addition I teach counselling at various levels at a college in the Manchester area and facilitate workshops.

I have managed two counselling services in the voluntary sector, one providing counselling to the Lesbian and Gay community in Manchester and the other providing counselling to the Wythenshawe community.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and am subject to the complaints procedure of the BACP.

I work with people from all backgrounds with a variety of issues.  I also specialise in Sexual Minority Therapy, working with people whose sexual orientation, gender identity or sexaul preference places them outside of what is generally accepted by society.

My qualifications are:

Level 1 Introductory Certificate in Counselling Skills (1996)

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills (1997)

Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Counselling (1998)

Diploma in Casework Supervision (2001)

Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (2008)
Essentials in Sexual Minority Therapy (2008)

Professional Diploma in Education (2009)

I have also attended workshops and seminars on:
