What is counselling?

Counselling can benefit people who are looking for help or support, either for a specific issue or problem in their life, or to gain help in making life changes.  Counselling is not about giving advice or even having all the answers, it is about helping you to help yourself, to find the answers that you are looking for in a supportive, collaberative way.

Counselling is now generally accepted as an umbrella term for a variety of talking therapies, some of the most common are Person Centred Counselling (PCC), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA), but can also include other therapeutic approaches and techniques such as Hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

Each of these approaches works in a different way but the ultimate aim is to help you as an individual to find the solutions you are looking for in a way that works for you.

Whatever you may want help with, anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, or if you have reached a point in your life where you feel that you don't know yourself anymore, whether you are gay, lesbian, straight or trans, or simply looking for a counsellor in Manchester, why not get in touch and see if I can help?
